What a KDS replaces
Many Pakistani kitchens still run on a thermal printer and a shouted order. A printed ticket gets splashed, stuck on the wrong hook or never printed when the paper runs out. A kitchen display system shows the live queue on a screen the cooks can see, and the status moves with the order.
- Fewer lost tickets. The order is on the screen the moment the cashier, customer or WhatsApp agent places it.
- One order list. The KDS reads the same orders as the POS, so a change at the counter is the change in the kitchen.
- No per-order fee. Orders cost the same monthly price however many pass through the screen.
Where kitchen orders come from
The kitchen does not care which app the order started in. Everything lands in the same queue.
| Order source | Reaches the kitchen screen |
|---|---|
| POS (dine-in, takeaway, delivery) | Yes |
| Your branded ordering website | Yes |
| WhatsApp, taken by the AI ordering agent | Yes |
| Foodpanda | Yes, received into the same order list (see Foodpanda integration) |
How many screens you need
A small cafe or a single-line kitchen works with the one included screen. A larger kitchen with separate stations, such as grill, fry and cold, can add a screen per station at PKR 1,000 each per month. Screens are billed per branch, not per restaurant group.
| Per branch | Included in PKR 15,000 | Extra capacity |
|---|---|---|
| All features, website, mobile app | Every feature, no feature locks | Nothing extra |
| POS terminals | 1 | PKR 2,000/month each |
| Kitchen display (KDS) screens | 1 | PKR 1,000/month each |
| Riders | 3 | PKR 500/month each |
| Order takers | 5 | PKR 500/month each |
| Central ordering users | 1 | PKR 1,000/month each |
| Users in every other role (manager, kitchen, cashier, etc.) | 1 per role | PKR 500/month each |
Example: a branch with 3 KDS screens pays PKR 15,000 plus 2 extra screens at PKR 1,000, so PKR 17,000 a month. Hardware is billed separately and the screens run on any tablet or touchscreen with a browser.
Part of the whole system
The KDS is one piece of the platform, not a separate subscription. The same branch price covers the POS, a branded ordering website, rider management, inventory and multi-branch controls. See the full feature list or the pricing page.
For the Gulf, the same software runs in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain and Kuwait. There is no published AED or SAR price, so ask us for a local-currency quote.
Frequently asked questions
What is a kitchen display system (KDS) for a restaurant?
A kitchen display system is a screen in the kitchen that shows incoming orders live instead of printing paper tickets. In RestroAI by Taiz the KDS is fed by the same orders as the POS, so orders from the counter, website, WhatsApp and Foodpanda all appear on it.
Is the kitchen display included in the RestroAI price?
Yes. Every branch plan at PKR 15,000 a month includes 1 KDS screen. There is no separate KDS subscription or setup fee.
How much does an extra KDS screen cost?
Each KDS screen above the one included costs PKR 1,000 per month per branch. For example, three screens in one branch cost PKR 17,000 a month in total.
What hardware does the KDS need?
Any tablet or touchscreen with a browser works, including iPads and Android tablets. Hardware is billed separately and is not sold as part of the monthly price.
Do website and WhatsApp orders show on the kitchen screen?
Yes. Orders from the POS, your ordering website, WhatsApp and Foodpanda all go into the same order list, and the kitchen screen is fed by that list.
Does the KDS work in the Gulf as well as Pakistan?
Yes. RestroAI serves restaurants in Pakistan, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain and Kuwait. The price is PKR 15,000 per branch per month, and you can ask for a quote in your local currency.
Is there a commission on orders that pass through the KDS?
No. RestroAI charges no commission on orders. You pay the monthly branch price plus any extra capacity you add.
