RestroAI vs Oscar POS: Free POS or One Flat Price?
RestroAI by Taiz · · 6 min read
Oscar POS and RestroAI by Taiz solve different problems at different prices. Oscar advertises a free POS and card machine and makes its money from card payments. RestroAI is a complete restaurant system, with POS, ordering website, Android app and riders, for one flat PKR 15,000 per branch per month. This comparison uses Oscar's published information, checked on 25 October 2026 from its own site, which we have not independently verified. Where Oscar is stronger, we say so.

If you need billing and a card machine at the lowest possible cost, and tax integration today, Oscar is a strong fit. If you want your own ordering website, app and delivery in one system, RestroAI is built for that.
Where Oscar POS is stronger
- Free to start. There is no monthly software fee for the POS and card machine. No paid plan can beat that for a small counter that only needs billing.
- Tax integration is advertised. Oscar advertises FBR and SRB support. RestroAI's direct FBR, PRA, SRB and ZATCA integration is not live yet, so if you must issue integrated tax invoices today, ask us for the timeline before you sign up.
- Card acceptance comes with the system. The card machine is part of the offer, which suits restaurants that mostly take card payments at the counter.
RestroAI does not yet have live FBR, PRA, SRB or ZATCA integration. Receipts reserve space for the FBR invoice QR code, and sales records and Z reports can go to your tax filer. It is on the roadmap.
Where RestroAI fits better
The difference is what the price covers. Oscar's free POS covers billing; online ordering is offered separately. RestroAI's price covers the whole system.
- Your own ordering website on your domain, with no commission on orders.
- Android customer app, included in the price.
- Rider and delivery management: rider profiles, shifts, manual or automatic assignment, and a rider panel.
- Kitchen display, inventory and multi-branch roles in the same system.
- Foodpanda orders received into the same order list, with menu and order-status sync.
- WhatsApp ordering with an AI agent that takes orders in conversation and creates them in the POS.
A branch gets 1 POS terminal, 1 KDS screen, 3 riders and 5 order takers in the base price. A busier branch pays only for extra capacity. See the pricing page for add-on prices.
A sample month, side by side
Oscar's cost depends on how much you take by card. RestroAI's does not. The example below uses two assumptions we have chosen, not Oscar figures: PKR 1.5 million of card sales in the month, and an average card payment of PKR 1,500, which gives about 1,000 card transactions. Change the average payment and the result changes.
| Monthly cost | Oscar POS | RestroAI |
|---|---|---|
| Software | PKR 0 | PKR 15,000 |
| Percentage fee: 1.2% of PKR 1,500,000 | PKR 18,000 | PKR 0 (no commission) |
| Per-payment fee: Rs 10 × 1,000 payments | PKR 10,000 | PKR 0 |
| Total for the month | About PKR 28,000 | PKR 15,000 plus card processing |
Card processing fees apply to card payments either way. Oscar's 1.2% + Rs 10 includes the card machine and processing. On RestroAI, card payments on online orders are processed by Stripe, which charges its own fee on those payments; we do not quote that rate here, so check Stripe's current pricing. The table compares the vendor fee only.
At an average payment of PKR 1,500, Oscar's fees reach PKR 15,000 at roughly PKR 800,000 of card sales a month. Below that, Oscar costs less in fees alone. Above it, the flat price is lower, and the gap grows with volume. A restaurant taking mostly cash, or mostly card at the counter, will land in a different place, so run your own numbers.
Which one should you choose
- Choose Oscar POS if you run a single counter, need billing and a card machine with no monthly fee, and need FBR or SRB integration now.
- Choose RestroAI if delivery, your own website and app, Foodpanda orders and multi-branch control matter, and you prefer one predictable monthly price over a fee on every payment.
- Run both questions past your tax filer if integrated invoicing is a legal requirement for your outlet. That requirement alone may decide it today.
